Perry & the Peacock

My friend Hailey sent me a two minute long voice note about a peacock which I felt needed to be shared with the world. So here it is transcribed:

So basically, in our area, we live opposite to this super-super-nice man. His name is Perry.  Perry used to have soo many pets. Oh my god he's an ex-cop. His dog, he has, and had as a cop, his police dog; came home as his pet. Uhm, and a few years ago, a peacock was stolen from [redacted]. I think it was stolen from a priest, and it was kidnapped, it was— I don't know if you can use the word "kidnapped". Like these people had the peacock, took it to [redacted] and stuff. I don't know what the deal with the peacock was, but it was rescued and there's now some on— there was an ongoing legal issue with it and it ended up coming to Perry for him to take care of, uhm, throughout this whole legal case and so forth. So, uhm, it used to roam in the area, so even though it was with— it was like his peacock cause they didn't live in his yard they lived on a tree on the road, and he used to check on it with his binoculars from his balcony, and it used to just roam the area. It used to come into our yard and stuff, and one day it was at our side door, so it's a glass door, so it was just chilling on the step. So we went to look through the glass, and when you look up close you just see all these things crawling in and around its feathers. It's quite disgusting. Uhm, and there's like worms, and lice, and insects. It's just— it's gross.

But anyways, a very sad thing happened; a dog in the area killed the peacock. It was here for a good few years, it was here for I think over four years, and towards the end of last year a dog killed it, and that rubbish owner didn't like think to tell Perry that 'this is what happened' it just put the peacock in a bin bag and left it outside, and the neighbor who knew like the peacock story and that it belonged to Perry; told him.

Note: Names have been changed and place names have been redacted so "Hailey" does not do to me what was done to the peacock. R.I.P. tho feathery friend.
